The inaugural edition of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo was a grand success and a milestone event in the industry of mobility, said Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry. Addressing the media at a recent press conference, Goyal added that the exhibition will, henceforth, become an annual event.
High-base effect, auto sales in India to see moderation in FY2025 says ICRA
The domestic automotive industry recorded robust growth trends across segments in FY2023, aided by a low base, recovery in economic activities, and increased mobility. Following a period of robust growth and a relatively healthy base across automotive segments, the pace of growth has started to see moderation in FY2024, and the trend is expected to continue in FY2025 as well says ICRA.
Tata Motors share price jumps over 7% to a record high after strong Q3 results
Tata Motors share price rallied over 7% to open at a fresh 52-week high on Monday after the auto major reported strong Q3 results with a two-fold jump in its consolidated net profit. Tata Motors shares gained as much as 7.19% to ₹942.00 apiece on the BSE.
No plans to sell stake in EV arm: Tata Motors
Tata Motors is not looking to sell a bigger stake in its recently created subsidiary, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEML), a senior has official indicated, as the environment is not conducive to raising funds.

Ola & Uber to be part of Karnataka’s uniform taxi fare scheme: Check new price structure here
In a bid to help the commuters, Karnataka government has issued a new diktat on uniform taxi fare in the state. The latest order by the Karnataka Transport Department will cover all taxis plying in the state. Most importantly, cabs run by both Ola and Uber will also come under the new rule. This means that usual city taxis, which have meters to check the fare, and app-based taxis services will have a common fare structure. The PTI report says that the fare structure has come into force with immediate effect. The new uniform fare structure removes the possibility of surge pricing by the app-based taxi services. So far, neither Ola nor Uber have released any statement in this regard.

ITC to induct over 100 Eicher Pro 2055 EVs for sustainable logistics solutions
Eicher Trucks and Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has joined hands with ITC to promote sustainable and environment-friendly mid-mile logistics solutions across various ITC locations in India. As part of this collaboration, ITC, through its vendors partners, will progressively deploy over 100 units of the 5.5-tonne electric vehicle, the Eicher Pro 2055 EV, for mid-mile transportation from ITC warehouses to customer locations. The first deliveries started from December 2023 and initial deployment includes the key metros of Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, and Ahmedabad. Dumping of waste tyres into India is not only unsafe but is also polluting the environment. Between April and November 2023, around 8.8 lakh million tonnes of scrapped tyres were brought from developed countries which are burnt or retreated for selling into the aftermarket, which are very unsafe, Anshuman Singhania, Chairman of Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ATMA) said. IOC, BPCL, HPCL post Rs 69,000 crore net profit in Apr-Dec, higher than pre-oil crisis annual earnings
State-owned fuel retailers Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd reported bumper profit totalling over Rs 69,000 crore in the first nine months of the current fiscal which far exceeded their annual earning in pre-oil crisis years. The combined net profit of IOC, BPCL and HPCL in April-December FY24 was better than their annual earning of Rs 39,356 crore in pre-oil crisis year, regulatory filings by them showed.
