Ola Electric has big plans going forward when it comes to electric mobility. The Bengaluru-based EV manufacturing is already raking moolahs off the S1 electric scooter lineup and it intends to expand its two-wheeler lineup with many more models in the future. Besides scooters, Ola Electric wants to foray into the electric motorcycle segment as well.

iVOOMi JeetX ZE e-scooter with 170km range launched at Rs Rs 79,999
Electric vehicle maker iVOOMi has launched the JeetX ZE e-scooter in India, priced at Rs 79,999 onwards. The scooter is available in three variants, 2.1kWh, 2.5kWh and 3kWh battery packs. The company also claims a range of 170km on a full charge, while also being 20% lighter compared to its predecessor.

TVS Motor to launch new variants of iQube, e3W in FY25

New Delhi: In an attempt to cater to customers at multiple price points, Chennai-based TVS Motor Company is gearing up to introduce a new range of two- and three-wheelers in the current financial year.

“We are constantly looking at white spaces. FY25 will be an interesting year, you will see launches in both ICE and EV category. More options on the current iQube will be available shortly,” KN Radhakrishnan, Director and CEO, TVS Motor Company, said during the company's Q4FY24 analyst call on Wednesday.

The company will begin with the launch of new variants of its electric scooter iQube. Without sharing specific timelines, the automaker said it will be introducing new variants to provide different battery capacities and price points. An electric three wheeler (e3W) is in “advanced stage” of development and will also be launched this year. It will be “not only for India but many other markets”.

For FY25, the company will make an investment in the tune of INR 1100-1200 crore. It has aligned a capex of around INR 1000 crore including new products.

Industry sources point out that Hero Electric, Okinawa Autotech, Greaves Electric Mobility and Revolt Motors (among others) have not yet been registered for subsidies in the new scheme, called Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS). These OEMs are among the seven companies against which the ministry of heavy industries had initiated recovery of varying amounts of subsidies in 2022, alleging misappropriation.

Chennai: TVS Motor Company, a leading two- and three-wheeler maker, proposes a capex of about ₹1,000 crore in FY25 and will introduce a new range of two- and three-wheelers (both in ICE and battery segments), starting with the launch of multiple variants of its electric scooter iQube. The company, which posted its highest-ever vehicle sales, revenue and net profit in FY24, doubled its electric two-wheeler (iQube) sales from 97,000 units in FY23 to 1.94 lakh units in FY24, with cumulative volumes surpassing three lakh units. iQube is now available at 700-plus touchpoints, up from 300 plus in July last year.
